After two impactful years at the helm, Krim Talia has announced his decision to step down as CEO of Sting to dedicate more time to his extensive investment portfolio. As a seasoned leader and angel investor with a deep understanding of Health Tech and startups, Krim leaves behind a legacy of growth, collaboration, and innovation.

Karin Ruiz, a cornerstone of the Sting team for the past 10 years, is stepping into the role of interim CEO. As a long-time Head Coach for Climate Tech, Karin has been instrumental in driving Sting’s Climate Action agenda and helping startups that tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Her passion for impact and entrepreneurship – combined with a strong business acumen and over25 years of experience in leadership, innovation, scaling businesses and sustainability – make her the ideal leader to guide Sting going forward. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, Karin has lived and breathed entrepreneurship her entire life.

Reflecting on his time at Sting, Krim shared:

“Leading Sting has been a great privilege. The energy, creativity, and talent within this organisation, and the startups we work with are unmatched. While I’m stepping down from my role as CEO, I’m not saying goodbye. I will continue to be part of Sting’s immediate network, cheering on this incredible community from the sidelines. Karin’s leadership will ensure that Sting continues to thrive, and I’m excited to see what’s next!”

Karin added:

“I’m truly excited to take on this new role. My journey has always been about driving innovation to solve big global challenges, and Sting embodies that mission every day. Krim has left big shoes to fill, as did Pär Hedberg before him, but I am ready to embrace this opportunity and continue building on their incredible legacy. With the spring ’25 cohort kicking off next week, it feels like a fresh start—not just for me but for all of us at Sting. Together, we’ll keep pushing boundaries, supporting groundbreaking startups, and creating lasting impact.”

As Sting looks to the future, the organisation remains committed to its mission of building the world’s next great startups. The Sting team, known for their unwavering dedication to the startup ecosystem, is ready to support Karin in her new role. Together, they will continue to empower entrepreneurs, promote innovation, and drive forward new initiatives to ensure Sting remains a beacon for world-changing ideas.

To the startups, investors, and alumni in the network: we look forward to collaborating with you as we take this exciting step into the future.

Welcome to your new role, Karin.
