BLING selects Sting as educational partner to identify urban Swedens' top entrepreneurs
Startup incubator BLING supports individuals with promising ideas in need of a network in order to bring their ideas to life. Through the "För-orten" competition, they aim to discover the most promising entrepreneurs in the urban areas of Sweden. To assist participants in kickstarting their businesses, BLING has partnered with Sting's digital startup school, Startup Academy.
Startup Academy, recently launched by award-winning Incubator and Accelerator Sting, offers a free-of-charge crash course in entrepreneurship; proven to be an indispensible tool. Startup Academy will be an integral part of the initial phase of the För-orten competition, providing participants with tools, techniques, and expertise to establish a foundation for their startups.
– For us, it's essential that För-orten's entrepreneurs have access to top-tier knowledge coupled with rich experience. Having backed over 400 companies, many of which have achieved remarkable success for over 20 years, Sting exemplifies unparalleled competence in this realm, remarks Adnan Yousuf, co-founder of BLING.
– This is, of course, a significant acknowledgment for Startup Academy. We’re immensely proud to be a part of För-orten and contribute to the blossoming of great ideas, states Krim Talia, CEO of Sting.
Fueling economic development in the suburbs
The aspiration and intent to establish new companies are already present in the suburbs; what's missing is the support. Through the För-orten competition, BLING aims to empower unique talents, stimulate positive economic growth in marginalized areas, and showcase inspiring role models.
– There's a formidable entrepreneurial force in the geographic areas where BLING operates. However, these individuals are often overlooked by conventional startup ecosystems. Collaborating with BLING represents a pivotal move toward fostering the birth and growth of exceptional companies in Sweden, comments Krim Talia, CEO of Sting.
About BLING
BLING, an incubator and accelerator, has supported over 300 companies and facilitated more than 40 million SEK in investments. In 2018, in response to the growing isolation in Sweden's suburbs, BLING launched the För-orten competition. The contest seeks to spotlight suburban entrepreneurs and provide initial capital to jumpstart their operations. Finalists present their ideas live on stage before a jury in Stockholm.
