The second batch: Here are the 6 new STING Incubate companies
Three times a year, five tech startups are accepted to STING’s incubator program STING Incubate, and get 6 to 18 months tailor-made coaching. The companies in the second batch offer products within, for example, 3D modeling, virtual and augmented reality, and strategy implementation tools. All startups can receive 300,000 SEK from Propel Capital, the investment company that invests exclusively in STING companies.
– It’s a really strong group of startups and it will be incredibly fun to coach and work with the companies. Several of them develop products that utilize the trends in today’s society and build on technology that is really at the forefront, says Karin Ruiz, business coach at STING.
One of the companies in the second batch is Hatrabbit Entertainment, a new studio that builds gaming experiences that utilize the latest virtual and augmented reality technology. Hatrabbit is also the first game company to enter STING’s new gaming incubator that opened earlier this year.
The founders both have 17 years’ experience in the gaming industry, both as developers and leaders. With top positions at EA DICE and Rovio, they have created and worked with some of the world’s largest AAA and mobile franchising games, such as Battlefield and Angry Birds.
– Our focus right now is to find the right partners that can help us take the company to the international top. To do that, we need support both from investors but also from organizations like STING. STING has an incredibly broad and long-standing expertise in building companies. They can help us with investments, how to build a larger business and think strategically about long-term relationships. We realized that we could not find someone else who has as much experience and as many contacts, said Andreas Chrysovitsanos, co-founder of Hatrabbit.
STING’s startup support includes, in addition to individual coaching and the opportunity for investment from Propel Capital, access to STING’s own recruitment service for startups, working space at SUP46, THINGS or H2, and access to STING’s broad international network of investors, business contacts and experts. In addition, the selected companies have access to several workshops and intensive courses that they take together with other STING companies, all to speed up their development and increase their chances of success.
Since its inception in 2002, STING has coached over 200 startups. Among the STING Incubate companies are Yubico, Videoplaza, Volumental, Watty, Barnabys, Bioservo and MIND Music Labs.
The next batch of STING Incubate starts September 18.
