Learnster raises SEK 6 million, angel investor Lars Lindgren joins the company
Edtech company Learnster issues new shares and brings on one of Sweden’s most experienced business angels, Lars Lindgren, as an investor. In the new issue of SEK 6 million, existing investors Söderberg & Partners and Almi Invest also participate. Saminvest participates as well through a co-investment agreement with Lars Lindgren. The capital will be used for continued development and market launch of the company’s digital education platform.
Stockholm-based Learnster offers a digital education platform that helps companies solve the skills development needs that have increased significantly in recent years due to the rapid digital development.
The SaaS platform supports both formal and informal learning and enables each organization to tailor relevant and engaging development plans to its unique situation. Great emphasis is placed on maximizing the effect of both teaching and learning using methods based on scientific research on how our brains work.
– There is a great need for company-adapted solutions in education, not least because the increasing rotation in the labor market is due to the lack of skills development in many workplaces. I support Learnster’s view of what will be required by the companies to successfully attract tomorrow’s talents. The team has performed impressively well in a short time and I look forward to what’s to come, both in terms of development and market, says Lars Lindgren.
Although Learnster was first launched in 2018, the platform is already used by over 50 companies. The customer list contains several well-known organizations, including SATS, O’Learys, Hemfrid, Skandiamäklarna and the Friends Foundation.
– It feels great to get on board an investor of Lars’s calibre. We continue our rapid growth in the customer side with over 50 new customers in the past year alone. Now we are facing the next step, which comes with a sharper differentiation and positioning. A step where we will undoubtedly benefit from having access to Lars’s experience and fingertip feeling, says Learnster’s CEO Mikael Larsson.
Built into the Learnster platform is a user-friendly design tool for easily creating tomorrow’s education, as well as all the necessary functionality needed to easily handle course participants and course programs. The interface is responsive and works on all devices, enabling the participants to learn on their terms, both before, during and after the training.
