Three Sting companies have received funding through Innovative startups step 2. The follow-on funding goes to startups who want to contribute to sustainable growth in a global market, whose operations are based on innovative products or services and have a scalable business model.

Harvest Moon, one of the companies that received funding, is developing a toilet that separates and converts urine and feces into the plant industry.

– With this funding, we, together with design and engineering partners, will further develop some of the most central parts of our solution. In addition, we will continue with the IP strategy that we developed during the stage 1 project. With Vinnova’s contribution, we will be able to take a major step closer to launching our product, says Åsa Karlsson, co-founder and CEO of Harvest Moon.

ImagiLabs, which also received a grant of SEK 900,000, builds a community and tools for teaching girls between 12-16 years programming.

– With the Vinnova grant, we are going to research and develop new features of the imagiLabs app. Today, it allows our users to learn to code in Python in combination with the imagiCharm but we are looking to make our platform more social and provide long-term learning opportunities that will engage our users with coding for months and years to come, says Dora Palfi, co-founder and CEO of imagiLabs.

SciMind, which has developed the SciPro Thesis Management System, an Internet-based support for managing bachelor’s and master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, also received SEK 900,000 to further develop its product.

Vinnova has hired experts with relevant expertise who have assessed the projects. Subsequently, the projects that were deemed to have the highest potential, most credible structure and most qualified teams were selected, but where the company is in an early phase and needs to fill the company with content in the form of knowledge and assets.
