Today, EIT ICT Labs is launching the second round of the EU-wide Idea Challenge to give people with great, innovative ideas the opportunity to win great cash prizes and support to bring their ideas to life. The competition covers eight trending tech areas with finals taking place in eight different European cities. This fall, four of them are open for submissions: Internet of Things, Cyber Security and Privacy, Urban Life and Mobility, and Smart Energy Systems.
The final in Internet of Things will take place in Stockholm in November. The rapid development in this area creates exciting business opportunities and now you can help build the Internet of Things by submitting your idea to the Idea Challenge. Ideas could be new tools, platforms and service enablement, including general services and devices.
On November 13th, an impressive jury will decide which three of ten finalists will win €40 000, €25 000 and €15 000, and receive support from EIT ICT Labs’ extensive European network of experts. The pitch final will take place in Kista, Stockholm.
The contest is open to all creative individuals, entrepreneurs and innovators across Europe. You can apply to more than one competition. In each area, three winners will be announced. Ideas can be submitted 1st-30th September on the Idea Challenge website.
The first round of the Idea Challenge drew over 300 entries from 25 EU countries. Twelve European startups won an overall amount of 320,000 Euros, and are already working closely with the EIT ICT Labs Business Accelerator to further develop their ideas.
