DPOrganizer raises capital and expands in Europe

DPOrganizer, which helps companies and organizations worldwide to manage the challenges of data protection, has raised capital from Inbox Capital and Soläng Invest, among others.

DPOrganizer helps organizations manage the challenges of data protection. Right now, the focus is on companies that have to deal with the new EU data protection directive, GDPR, which comes into force in May 2018. The rules are complex and the fines are high if they do not follow them. Penalties for not complying with the new EU data protection directive can correspond to up to 4 percent of a company’s total turnover, or 190 MSEK.

– Awareness has increased about GDPR and the challenges regulation entails among businesses, but many are still struggling with how to deal with the issues in practice, in an effective way. There are also many who have not realized what a big job they have in front of them. GDPR will change the way companies build and manage products, business models, organizations and IT systems. Then there are also major competitive advantages of taking data protection issues seriously, we see a big focus on that perspective internationally, especially. Regardless of maturity and focus, our solution is a very good support in the work process, says Egil Bergenlind, founder and CEO of DPOrganizer.

DPOrganizer was founded in 2015 and at the end of last year it consisted of four people. Today there are 18 employees. It is headquartered in Stockholm, with offices in London and Amsterdam.

– We are growing rapidly and expects to be more than 50 employees before the year is out. We will then have sales offices in at least six European cities. The funds will be used primarily to expand our sales organization in Europe. Demand for our services is increasing rapidly thanks to GDPR entering into force next year. With this new capital, we ensure that we can continue to expand and help our customers in the best possible way, says Egil Berglind.

DPOrganizer has customers such as Academedia, Axfood, Dustin, Eniro, Mekonomen and Visma Advantage, and has established partnerships with leading law firms like Delphi, Lindahl and Synch.
