We caught up with Gustav, Hugo, Johan and Sebastian, co-founders behind the STING FastForward startup Liveguide.
1. Please tell us a little about Liveguide.
Liveguide is your personal guide through the jungle of live video on the Internet. We help you find what’s on and we’ll make sure you never miss a second of what you love.
2. Why did you apply to the FastForward program?
We were recommended by a friend in Stockholm. He’s friends with the Codarica team, a company that went through the program earlier this year, and then went on to do great things in the US. We talked to one of the co-founders behind Codarica; Sanna, and the program sounded like a perfect fit for Liveguide.
3. What expectations did you have ahead of the program?
Expectations were high, and this was our first office space as a company, so we were very excited. Being a very product-oriented team specialized in design and development, it’s very valuable to get some help on the business side of things.
4. Now when you are 2 months in, what do you think about the program?
It’s perfect for early-stage companies. STING FastForward is run at SUP46, which is a workspace that hosts events several nights per week and offers lots of networking. Also, the network you get through STING is great and the coaches are very helpful. Every week you get to bounce ideas and problems with the coaches and the other startups in the batch, which keeps you refining and iterating constantly.
5. What about financing – have you raised any money yet?
Yes, we received a 250 000 SEK investment from STING’s investment company Propel Capital when we got accepted to the program. We’re talking with some business angels at the moment and we are looking to raise more financing at the turn of the year.
6. What have been some of the ups and downs?
As we work very fast-paced here in the STING FastForward program, the ups and downs come and go very quickly, we make sure to only look ahead and learn from our mistakes. We’ve got some really cool content partners that we’ll be pushing out during the fall, and we’re currently working on our first event partner.
8. What’s next for Liveguide after FastForward?
We’ll be expanding into web soon after STING FastForward and working hard on more content partners. To make that happen, we’re looking to recruit a web developer and a salesperson to help us on our mission to lead the change from TV to the Internet. Is that you? Shoot me an email, email@example.com!
